Digital Transformation Processes in Vojvodina’s Agricultural Systems

Abstract

In recent years, the agricultural sector in Vojvodina has undergone significant digital development, which has contributed to an increase in the efficiency of the agricultural sector. Contemporary technologies, including precision agriculture instruments, GPS-based machine control systems, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), sensors and smart devices, facilitate meticulous observation of the terrain and the implementation of targeted resource utilisation. Information technology and data analysis are playing an increasingly important role in farming, helping to optimise production processes, reduce costs and promote sustainability. By analysing data in real time, farmers can optimise the management of irrigation, nutrient replenishment and crop protection, thereby minimising the environmental impact. Furthermore, digital platforms and applications will facilitate the expeditious exchange of information and the monitoring of market trends among farmers. Digitalisation has been demonstrated to enhance the competitiveness of agricultural production in Vojvodina, whilst concomitantly contributing to the dissemination of environmentally sustainable farming practices.
