About the Journal

Focus and Scope

The Journal of Agricultural Informatics publishes articles on research and application results on applied information technologies related to agriculture and business. Our journal focuses on the field of management and business. The aim is to improve scientific knowledge dissemination and innovation processes in applied informatics. The peer-reviewed journal operates with an international editorial and advisory board supported by the European Federation for Information Technology in Agriculture Food and the Environment. The journal publishes original papers on Farm Management, Education and research results on the wide scope of information and communication technologies and methods, agricultural economics, agribusiness, agricultural finance, agricultural management, agriculture's contribution to rural development, information and communication technologies, and applied GIS.

Peer Review Process

Each article published in the Journal of Agricultural Informatics anonymously peer-reviewed:
1. First the editor and the section editor examine the submission/manuscript sent by the author to decide whether the subject is acceptable, and then the section editor selects two reviewers.

2. The reviewer has to fill out the online form (REFEREEā€™S REPORT (JAI)). The reviewers send their suggestions and comments to the section editor.

3. The section editor makes a decision as below:
a. Accepted for publication
b. Revision required
c. Resubmit for review
d. Decline submission

After the submission is accepted, there are three different phases: copy-editing, layout and proofreading.
The review process and the communication is e-mail based through this website so the author must register before submitting his/her manuscript.

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global knowledge exchange.
